Allen Thompson
Born in 1962 in Manitoba. Allen is of Sauteaux descent; however, he grew up with the influence of the west coast. He began carving in 1987 under the expert guidance of Derek Wilson, Henry Robertson and his brother, Kelvin Thompson. Allen is trained in carving wood and precious metals such as gold and silver. His designs reflect a Northern influence with tremendous at attention to detail and superb craftsmanship. Allen is very aware of his native culture and hopes that through his artwork to help preserve the Northwest Coast native culture for future generations.

Eagle
Symbol of power, prestige and wisdom. The Eagle also has a strong connection to peace. Its sacred down represents friendship and its feathers are used for ceremonies and rituals. The Cree consider each feather as having special meaning and distinction.
