Giitsxaa - Ronald E. Wilson
Born in 1945, Giitsxaa (Ronald E. Wilson) is the first nephew of Chief Cumshewa and as such will be the next Chief of the Eagle Clan of Cumshewa. He studied at Vancouver School of Art from 1966 to 1969. He spent one and a half year at Thunder Bird Park training in wood carving with Henry Hunt Sr. Giitsxaa sold his first piece of art work in 1962 and continue to create artworks in gold, silver, argillite, wood, ivory carvings and original paintings. His art work represents the true value of Haida art and culture.
Raven
The creator, transformer and trickster. Legend says the Raven released the sun and moon, and discovered mankind in a clamshell. The Raven also brought the salmon and the water to man, and taught people how to fish and hunt. The Raven is one of the two main crests of the Haida.
