Robert J. Walsh
Robert was an adopted (Heiltsuk) Kwa-Guilth. He began his training with Patrick Seaweed in 1989 and has worked as a full time engraver since 1993. Over the years, he has worked with the Seaweed brothers, and Lancasters from Alert Bay. Now he works on his own from his studio in Victoria. Robert started carving wood, and quickly moved to silver and gold. Robert took up native art as a way to help teaching his children about their heritage. His work is distinguished by the evidence of his keen eye for design and attention to detail.

Thunderbird
Thunderbird possesses supernatural power and is credited for creating storms. When he blinks, lighting comes out of his eyes, and when he flaps his wings, thunder roars. It hunts and eats Whales by using the two lightning snakes kept under his wings.
